(Pine Bluff, Ark.) Simmons First National Corporation (NASDAQ: SFNC) (Simmons or Company) announced the recent retirement of Steve Massanelli, senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer, following the conclusion of a decade-long career with Simmons, a period marked by significant contributions to the company’s growth and geographic expansion.
"We want to express our sincere gratitude to Steve for his leadership and counsel over the last ten years and the invaluable contributions he made to Simmons," said George Makris, Jr., chairman and CEO of Simmons Bank. "His legacy will be felt for years to come as the bank continues to build on the strong foundation he helped create. We are grateful for Steve’s dedication and service and wish him well in his retirement.”
Massanelli began his career with Simmons in 1977, serving until 1983, and rejoined the bank in 2014. During his most recent tenure, he played a key role in overseeing merger and acquisition due diligence and the integration of 12 financial institutions, encompassing approximately $20 billion in assets and an aggregate investment of roughly $3 billion. His responsibilities extended to managing real estate services across a six-state footprint, special assets, physical security, corporate marketing, human resources, corporate records, corporate insurance, and investor relations. Notably, his expertise was instrumental in acquiring the former Acxiom building in downtown Little Rock and the subsequent consolidation of multiple Simmons corporate and office locations.
